My wife and I own a small thoroughbred ranch for running horses just south of Montgomery, AL. We stand two stallions, ROYAL EMPIRE by Forty Niner and POLISHED BRASS by Dixie Brass. ROYAL EMPIRE has been the leading sire in Alabama for 7 years in a row and we were recognized by TOBA as Breeders of the Year in Alabama for 2008. We are very excited to stand POLISHED BRASS for the first time in Alabama in 2009. In times that have been tough for everyone in this economic slump, we feel fortunate to have acquired such an accomplished stallion. Last year we stood Power of Mind, look at our New Arrivals for his foals. We have also accumulated a well bred band of broodmares and have had success at the track with their progeny. COMALAGOLD, a daughter of ROYAL EMPIRE, is among the top earners with over $300,000, a multiple stakes winner and stakes placed. We ran 1st, 2nd, and 4th in the Kudzu Juvenile on December 12, 2008. The first three horses were sired by ROYAL EMPIRE and the 4th placed horse was a granddaughter of ROYAL EMPIRE. We run most of our horses in Louisiana, but it is our dream to some day soon have live horse racing return to Alabama.
